I was thrilled to be a guest, recently, on the “Ask Julie Ryan” show. Julie is such a fascinating lady. She’s a psychic and a medical intuitive who can sense illnesses and perform energy healings for people. She communicates with spirits and is also an author and an inventor.

Her podcasts on YouTube are some of the most interesting I’ve ever watched; her genuinely warm interview style is a delight. She put me at ease immediately, making this one of the most fun interviews I’ve ever done.

Over the Holidays, our family was blessed to all be together this year. Our son, David, and his girlfriend, Sarah, visited from Charlotte, North Carolina, joining Howard, me, and our daughter, Jill, in Phoenix. Since Sarah had never been to Arizona before, there was lots of sightseeing to do.
​
Of course, Sedona was a must-see for Sarah, and the rest of us were happy for the opportunity to visit that magical, red-rocked area again.

​After savoring the sights such as Bell Rock, and the Chapel of the Holy Cross, we stopped for lunch and a leisurely walk through the awesome art galleries at the historic shopping area called Tlaquepaque Village.

​Because each store and gallery enchanted us with unique feasts for our eyes, we spent a couple of hours enjoying the experience of wandering in and out of the shops. Upon entering one shop, however, the shopkeeper, a lovely lady named Laverne, came right up to me.

“Are you…did I just see…did you just do an internet interview about Angels on the Julie Ryan show?” she stammered.

“Yes, I did,” I said, smiling.

“I thought that was you! I thought I recognized you. I just watched that interview this morning! I loved it. I’m sorry if I was staring.”

“That’s okay, this is the first time I’ve ever been recognized in public,” I laughed.

“Well, I’ve got to tell you. For a couple of months, I’ve been feeling like I need to have a deeper connection with the Angels. That’s why I was excited to watch your interview this morning. And on my way to work, I asked the Angels for a sign that they are open to me. And now, talk about a sign…you, of all people, the Angel lady, just walked into my store! I can’t believe it!”

“Aww, Laverne, isn’t it awesome the way the Angels work?” I said, giving her a hug.

As I’ve said many times, the Angels adore us so much, and they love to send us signs. Sometimes those signs are as big and obvious as this one, sent to Laverne as proof that they want a deeper connection with her.

During the Holidays, or any time of year, it’s so comforting to receive loving signs and messages like this from our Divine Best Friends! Just ask and you shall receive! Joy to the World!

As you know, Thanksgiving is just a few days away, heralding in the season of peace, joy, giving, and gratitude.

​But because it’s been a time of deep emotional highs and lows for many people over the last couple of months, some folks may find it hard to work themselves into a state of appreciation. That’s because it takes energy and positive emotion to achieve the high vibrational state of gratitude.

As Nikola Tesla said, “If you want to find the secrets of the universe, think in terms of energy, frequency and vibration.”

​It’s interesting to ponder how everything really is made up of those aspects, including our cars, furniture, and houses, as well as our bodies. It’s all energy. So, our thoughts, feelings, and emotions are simply different frequencies. Dr. David R. Hawkins, a researcher and the author of Power vs. Force, devised an emotional frequency scale that rates basic human emotions within a range of 1 to 1,000. Any rating below 200 is considered a low, destructive frequency to the individual and to society. For instance, feelings of shame are rated 20, guilt is 30, apathy is 50, fear is 100, anger is 150, and pride is 175.

Conversely, higher frequencies are considered to be expansive and positive for the individual as well as society. Willingness is 310, acceptance is 350, reason is 400, love is 500, joy is 540, peace is 600, and enlightenment is considered to be 700 and above.

I’ve read several articles, recently, stating that true enlightenment is reached when we experience feelings of gratitude and authenticity. Nice to know that when we are truly appreciative and are also brave enough to be our true selves, we’re raising our vibration to the highest frequency levels!

And what are the benefits of hanging out, so to speak, at such high frequencies? Well, research has shown that it boosts our immune system, has healing effects on us spiritually, physically, and emotionally, reduces stress and depression, and increases our feelings of well-being. It also deepens our sense of contentment, fulfillment, and true joy, leading to closer relationships with loved ones and friends, as well as providing us with more empathy and a better understanding of ourselves and others.

​That sounds amazing. But how do we raise our vibrational frequencies? Well, the usual advice is exercise, meditate, keep a gratitude journal, surround yourself with nature, be around positive people, volunteer to help others, and make time to play. Those all sound like good suggestions. But they don’t include the most important one of all—ask an Angel to help you!

​Yes, there is an Angel for that…her name is Angel Ooniemme (pronounced Oon-ee-em)! Angel Ooniemme is the Angel of gratitude. As I explain in my book, How To Chat With Archangels, Angels were created by God to help humans.

So, when you can’t seem to muster the energy or attitude to put yourself in these higher frequencies, simply ask her assistance. She will gently guide you to focus on all the things in your life to be grateful for. They may be little things…you found a great parking spot at the store, your perfume bottle looks empty, but has still spritzed you with your favorite fragrance for over a week, the pain in your shoulder has eased, and you are healthy enough to be mobile and strong enough to complete your daily tasks. Maybe those aren’t such little things, after all.

Angel Ooniemme may whisper in your ear to remind you of all the things you’ve gone through that placed you in a better position presently. She may help you realize how much better your life is, now. It may suddenly become clearer to you just how much your favorite music elevates your mood, how much you laugh and enjoy being with certain people, and the way the breeze blowing those autumn leaves fills you with warm memories of past joy-filled days.

That’s what Angel Ooniemme does best—she helps raise our awareness about the true blessings that are all around us. And when we can recognize those with a fresh perspective, we can actually receive all those Divine gifts meant for us.

Speaking of traveling, Howard and I recently flew across the country to North Carolina to visit our son, David, for his birthday. We enjoyed ten awesome days. Travel can be so fun, exciting, and interesting. Getting out of our normal routines and seeing different things is often a thrill.

​However, there is plenty of opportunity for things to go wrong. Engine failure in your car, or tire trouble can pop up suddenly on a road trip. Flying instead? Airlines can suddenly delay your flight, or even cancel it at the last minute due to mechanical issues or a fast-moving snowstorm. Once you reach your destination, a pickpocket can steal your wallet and/or passport, causing incredible frustrations and inconvenience. Worse yet, you can get sick or injured, and have to deal with the symptoms and uncertainty while far from home.

Howard and I had experienced some of those unfortunate issues while traveling in the U.S. and around the world. But then I began to communicate with Archangels in 2011, which was an awesome gamechanger in every way for my life, let alone while traveling. In my book, How To Chat With Archangels, I describe a particular travel incident in detail.

We were enjoying several days in Rome, Italy, seeing all the iconic sights ahead of a Mediterranean cruise in 2016.

​One day, as we walked along a crowded street in search of some refreshing gelato, I was glared at and cursed with the “evil eye” by a beggar woman who was angry because I didn’t toss a coin into her money cup. I turned away, and the next thing I knew, I began falling down, onto the unyielding, gray basalt street tiles.

Thank heavens I had the presence of mind to quickly cry out to Angel Michael, asking for his help as I fell. Suddenly, it felt like I was falling at a much slower velocity, and when I hit the ground, I was able to jump up immediately, unharmed but for a few scrapes.

Howard was shocked that I could get on my feet so quickly. He had rushed over to help when he heard me loudly hit the ground. And he was incredulous because he said it looked like I had been falling in slow motion!

I knew it was Angel Michael who had slowed my fall and cushioned my body from what could have been a devastating injury. After all, I was in my 60s and a broken hip would certainly have caused misery and ruined our vacation. Instead, we were able to happily continue down the street to enjoy the most delicious gelato we’d ever tasted.

​As you can imagine, I always ask Angel Michael to protect me and my family whenever we travel, no matter how short the distance. God created the Archangels to help humans, and they take their jobs very seriously. They are just waiting for us to ask for their assistance.

Each Archangel specializes in a specific area or areas to help us. For example, Archangel Raphael is the healing Angel. When you ask him to “team up” with Archangel Michael, the Angel of protection, you acquire a loving, yet powerful duo dedicated to keeping things running smoothly and in the best condition possible for you. Your airlines, taxis, shuttles, cruise ships, and hotel reservations will be waiting for you, according to plan. Your luggage will arrive without issues. You will be protected from illness and injury. You can relax and enjoy all aspects of your vacation.

Talk about the best kind of insurance there is! And it’s free! You simply have to ask, and then thank your Divine Best Friends with true gratitude in your heart.
Like that old commercial said, “Don’t leave home without them!”

Hello Friends!

I’ve been thinking a lot about friendship. That’s because I finally got to meet, in person, a dear friend of mine named Melissa. She and I have been close for five years, having met by happenstance—or more likely by Divine providence—when we were both taking a popular online Mediumship class of over 1000 students, given through Zoom format, by Suzanne Giesemann.

Over the years, Melissa and I have shared many Zoom calls, phone calls, e-mails, and text messages, but since we live about 1500 miles apart, we’ve never had the opportunity to meet in person.
​
That all changed in late August when Melissa attended a conference at a resort in Phoenix. Howard and I drove down to Phoenix and stayed one night at that resort after the conference ended, so Melissa and I could spend some time together. It was such a heartwarming and unforgettable experience for us both.

Psychology Today says, “Research indicates that close friendships are associated with greater happiness, self-esteem, and sense of purpose. Those bonds are even associated with physical outcomes, such as lower blood pressure and a longer lifespan.”

We humans are social creatures, so that doesn’t surprise me at all. And, luckily for us, there is an Archangel whose main role and expertise is in helping humans with friendships and other relationships. His name is Angel Raguel. I haven’t spoken or written much about him, even in my book, How To Chat With Archangels, and it’s high time I do so.

Archangel Raguel’s name, from Hebrew, means “Friend of God.” He is mentioned in the Book of Enoch, and some consider him to be one of the seven principal Archangels. His specialties include orderliness, fairness, and harmony. He even oversees and manages relationships between Angels and humans!

Angel Raguel is just waiting for you to ask for his help in bringing forgiveness, peace, deeper comprehension, and calm between you and your friends, family members, romantic partners, and business partners. He can help heal misunderstandings and long-running feuds, bringing in balance, unity, agreement, and honesty, and lessening tensions and hurt feelings.

Sometimes he will simply heal the relationship outright and immediately. But other times he’ll send you intuitive guidance through gut feelings, thoughts, dreams, or visions so you can take the steps necessary to repair the relationship.

Angel Raguel is happy to help you mend and heal your relationship with yourself, too, if needed. He can offer loving understanding and forgiveness for things in your past that you might be angry or ashamed of or bitter about, that are having a negative impact on your daily existence.

And finally, Angel Raguel can help you attract the kind of friendships you are looking for and deepen the ones you have. Maybe you have mostly social friends that are fun to be with, but you yearn to meet a few people that you can really be yourself with, have honest conversations with, and who truly understand and care about you.

 I call these my “heart-space” friends—those rare few in my inner circle that I can truly trust with all my heart, like Melissa. Those are the people who will be there for me no matter what.

Did I ask Angel Raguel to help me find these special friends? You bet I did. Some appeared fairly quickly, while others came into my life gradually over the years.

I even asked Angel Raguel, years ago, to help deepen my relationship with my sister—a relationship that had been tense for a long time. I’m so grateful to be able to say that my sister and I now have the kind of relationship I’ve always hoped for. With Angel Raguel’s help and guidance, we were able to talk honestly and with a calm understanding that healed our relationship and brought peace, love, and true appreciation for each other.

As humans, we are all so blessed to have Archangel Raguel and all the other Archangels, our Divine Best Friends, ready and willing to help us in all areas of our lives!

Hello Friends!

I hope your summer has been glorious! Mine certainly has been. June was filled with the planning and excitement of our trip to Utah, so that Howard and I could renew our wedding vows for our 50th wedding anniversary!
​
Then in early July we boarded a lovely cruise ship for two weeks, exploring the rugged beauty of Alaska. We’d been there before, but every time is a new adventure. When we got to Sitka, a port we had never been to before, we fell in love with it. And we didn’t let the cool, rainy weather stop us from our explorations.

However, during the second week of our cruise, I began to feel sick. Never a good thing, but worse when you’re on vacation!

You know that feeling…your head starts to feel achy and as heavy as a plank of wood on your neck. Then your throat gets dry and scratchy and you’re unable to sleep because every time you swallow, razorblades slide down your throat. Of course, the heaviness in the chest then begins and an annoying barking cough follows. If you’re lucky that’s already enough to contend with.

I wasn’t so lucky. Fever began along with digestive issues that I will spare you from reading about. To put it mildly, I was a mess. By the time we flew back to Arizona and drove up the mountain to our home, I was in even worse shape. I was now dizzy, weak, exhausted, and shaky.

We were hoping that once I was home and in my own bed, I would recover quickly. Nope! Whatever that flu-like thing was, it wasn’t through with me yet. All in all, that illness lasted an entire month! I slowly improved but lost nearly ten pounds because there were so few food options I could tolerate.

I am happy to report that, as I write this, I have now healed completely. So, as my title above begs the question, is there anything good about having the flu?

There actually was good that came from my forced rest and recuperation. And only part of that was because I am of retirement age, so I didn’t have to worry about rushing back to work too soon, thank heaven! (One of the advantages of being older.)

The good was I was forced to slow down and spend time doing very little besides being in my own head. Reading, writing, surfing the Internet, even listening to low and slow music was intolerable.

So, I had no choice but to ride out my worst symptoms, contemplate whatever would come into my mind, pray, and tell God and the Angels what I was thinking and feeling. I’d drift off to sleep for a while, then wake up and the cycle would repeat.

Twice I had nightmares that I was in a dark place that I frantically needed to escape. I felt rough hands grab my shoulders! So disturbing! Then, still in the dream, I cried out to God and the Angels to protect me. Immediately those loathsome hands flew off of me and I woke up in a sweat, gasping for breath.

I knew that God and the Angels had saved me from what felt like demonic forces. That’s the only way I can describe it. I thanked them with a grateful heart, and asked Archangel Michael, the protector and warrior Angel, to please surround me with his Divine protection. Then I asked the Angel of healing, Archangel Raphael, to expedite my healing with his light of green energy. As soon as I asked, I began to feel a warm, tingly feeling in and around my lungs making them feel lighter. My coughing calmed down. I could rest without any discomfort for a while.

Yes, I eventually got annoyed with how long my recovery was taking. I let my Divine Best Friends know I wasn’t happy with the current healing timeline. I had experienced that kind of impatience before, some years ago, when I was slowly recovering from a back injury. That story is highlighted in Chapter 9 of my book, How To Chat With Archangels.

But I knew God and the Angels were there with me, always by my side, especially when my symptoms would flair up. And I knew I would recover, with a new appreciation for all the little things I’m able to do when I’m healthy and think nothing of it.

Getting sick is not something I would wish on anyone, of course. But it happens. Sometimes it’s just the flu. Other times it can be much more serious. But whatever the illness is, if you can use that sick time to reach out and connect, re-connect, or strengthen your connection to your Divine Best Friends, you will have turned the misery of illness into a special spiritual opportunity that will serve you in amazing ways!

Hello friends!

Here is a great question I recently received from one of my readers, named Lyn: “Debra, does true love still exist in this world of ours today? If so, how do I find it? How can I connect to it?”

My answer is a big yes, true love still exists! And what perfect timing for such a question; true love has definitely been front and center for me and my hubby, Howard. That’s because we just celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary on the 16th of June!
​
We chose to enjoy a golden anniversary adventure to a state we’d never visited - one we could drive to over a two-day period. That state was Utah. We enjoyed exploring all the natural beauty between Arizona and throughout Utah, and on our anniversary, we renewed our vows with a heart-felt, officiated ceremony in a white gazebo in a lovely park. Yes, true, everlasting love was definitely in the air that day! Howard and I are very grateful and feel so blessed to be able to experience this kind of love.

​But we know that many people are not fortunate enough to reach this milestone. Sometimes love just doesn’t last, for any number of reasons. So how are some couples able to keep their love going strong for half a century or more? Well, I believe it starts with choosing the right partner, whether you’ve been led through prayer, Divine guidance, listening to that small voice inside, or through dumb luck!

When you find a partner that you cannot imagine living without, through all life’s difficulties and stresses of jobs, money, raising children, illness, etc., and is worthy of all your devotion, respect, and fidelity, you’ve struck relationship gold.

But what if you haven’t found such a partner in life and, like my reader, long to find and connect with true love? Or what if you would like your marriage or relationship to be imbued with deeper, more genuine feelings of love?

Well, there’s an Archangel for that - Angel Chamuel! His name means “Eyes of God,” and he has all-seeing omniscient vision, perceiving every connection in every realm of the universe between everything and everyone. He knows exactly what is missing in your life, whether it’s your lost car keys, a more suitable place for you to live, a more fulfilling job, or true love, and he knows how to find it for you. He loves finding it for you.

As I always say, especially in my book, “How To Chat With Archangels,” you just have to ask! After initially inviting the Archangels into your life so they can help you, as they were created to do, you can ask Angel Chamuel specifically, or ask them all as a group, silently or out loud, to please help you find what you are missing; what you are longing for.

Sometimes, thank heavens, the missing item (such as Howard’s recently misplaced wedding ring) will appear within minutes. Other times, it may take weeks or months.

And you must believe and have faith after you have asked. But you can rest assured that your sincere request is being worked on and will be brought to you if it is in your highest good. And true love is always in your highest good!  

Another reader, named Gloria, recently emailed me with a great story about how one recent evening she was getting ready to go to dinner and couldn’t find her glasses. She looked all over and even had her daughter and a friend search with her. They just couldn’t find them. Gloria couldn’t imagine where they could be.

Then she said quietly to herself, “Can you even imagine that, Angels?” Then she walked toward the bathroom as the others were walking out of that room. That’s when Gloria saw and happily pointed toward the middle of the bathroom floor. There were the glasses, and they had not been there a minute before! Gloria thanked the Angels three times, and everyone laughed together in disbelief.

​​Well, dear friends, the rest, as they say, is history! After the Archangels stayed with me for those first five days, I couldn’t bear for them to leave. I asked them to stay with me forever, knowing they are omnipotent, and can be in many places, helping many people, at the same time. And I’m so grateful—they are still with me over thirteen years later! 

I figured out a way to communicate with them and have done so, regularly, finally writing my book so I could teach others how to enjoy these amazing communications with their Divine Best Friends, too!

Hello friends!

You will definitely want to get to know Archangel Zadkiel. I haven’t spoken or written much about this Archangel, whose name means Righteousness of God, but it is time to rectify that.

Like the other Archangels, Angel Zadkiel specializes in an area or areas of expertise specifically to help humans. As such, he is the master of forgiveness and memory.

Have you heard the experts say we need to forgive others for their transgressions against us, for our own good? Apparently, no matter what minor or major things others may have done to wrong us, no matter who they are, or why they did whatever they did, we need to forgive them - truly forgive them - within our own hearts and minds.

Why? So we can stop holding on to all that negative anger and resentment. So we can release the heavy burden, finally healing within, and moving on with our lives, with our precious peace restored. Otherwise, that negativity and indignation cause constant stress within us that can make us bitter and lead to illness. It’s like a sore that scabs over, but then painfully cracks open, again and again, with no hope of repair or restoration.

Okay, forgiving others for our own good makes sense. But it’s easier said than done. When we’re itching for their punishment…for karma to wreak havoc on them, how do we suddenly turn the other cheek and truly forgive them? For most of us, it’s darn near impossible to achieve that goal.

That’s where Archangel Zadkiel comes in. He is the Angel of Forgiveness. He is just waiting for us to ask his assistance in forgiving others, as well as forgiving ourselves. Yes, he even helps us forgive ourselves for things we’ve done in the past, which can be harder on us, and do more inner damage, than we can imagine.

He helps us to better understand those kinds of painful experiences in a more logical manner, instead of strictly from an emotional, ego-driven point of view. And that improves our spiritual maturity and empowers and strengthens our ability to forgive, even if we never forget.

​​Images of Archangel Zadkiel often show him wielding his violet flame, which is a sacred fire as well as a powerful force for true enlightenment, healing, and forgiveness.

God, in his infinite wisdom and love, created the Archangels specifically to assist humans, and to be a bridge between Him and us. It’s what the Archangels live for. And these Divine Best Friends of ours absolutely can’t wait to help you in any given situation.

But it’s up to you to remember to ask for their help, which isn’t always easy, especially when you’re in the middle of a challenging situation. Yet that’s precisely the right time to call upon them.

In the heat of the moment, though, when you’re scared, worried, nervous, distracted, or ill, it’s easy to forget that the Archangels are right there, ready to calm, guide, protect, or heal you. This is especially true when you’re just beginning your relationship journey with the Archangels.

And when you do remember to call upon them, you may be so flustered, you forget which Archangel to call. You may wonder, “Is it Angel Michael who heals, or is that Angel Raphael? Is it Angel Uriel who lights up the darkness or is that Angel Raziel?”

Luckily, it isn’t necessary, especially during a crisis, to call upon the “correct” Archangel, to benefit from their expertise. You may simply call out and say, “Archangels, please help me!”

Trust me, they will know how to arrange for you to receive the help you need. 

​Recently, my daughter, Jill, experienced this very thing. A busy journalist, she was traveling for three weeks in Southeast Asia. One day, she took a six-hour motorcycle tour of Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City) Vietnam, and really enjoyed the experience, learning a lot from her guide who drove the motorcycle.But toward the end of the tour, in the late afternoon, Jill began to feel ill. She became light-headed, nauseous, shaky, and weak. She had never passed out before, but she realized she was close to doing so.

She didn’t know if it was the high temperatures and humidity, the overwhelming smell of fuel exhaust, or dehydration that was causing her distress. But she knew she was in trouble.

She also knew that she had to hold on, somehow, with weak and sweat-slick hands, to the motorcycle’s grab-bar behind her for another fifteen to twenty minutes in order to meet up with the tour bus at the appointed time.
​
Thank heavens, all my nagging and reminding over the years, to call upon the Archangels if she was ever in trouble, paid off. She quietly called out, “Help me, please, Archangels. I’m not sure I have the strength to hang on and I’m scared I’ll faint or fall and be run over by other vehicles in this traffic. Please protect me.”

​As I explain in my book, “How To Chat With Archangels,” when we embrace a relationship with our Divine Best Friends, our lives are enhanced in so many incredible ways!

One of the questions I recently received was:

“Hello Debra! I am finally starting to hear some messages from the Archangels during chat sessions. At first I didn’t hear anything at all, even after I did all the steps you explained in your book and workshop. Now, after 7 days of trying, I’m receiving some words and phrases that make sense. That is so exciting. But how do I hurry this process and hear them even more clearly?”

Here was my answer:

“Congratulations to you for embracing your relationship with the Archangels and opening up to communicating with them! That’s the first important step!

"Believe me, I understand how you’d like to hurry the process along and hear them more clearly. That would be awesome. But it’s not something that can be hurried. As hard as it is to accept, we must be patient with this process. Like everything in life, we must practice for as long as it takes in order to improve our new connections to Divine Beings.

"You are already making a lot of progress, even if it’s not evolving as quickly as you’d like it to. Continue your chat sessions as often as possible. Remember that if you’re not feeling well or if you’re distracted, your connection will not be as strong, and you should wait until you are feeling better and can focus."

Here’s an idea…take a walk with the Archangels!  

As I explain in Chapter 19 of my book, deepening our sacred relationship with the Archangels can be done in other ways outside of our journal chat sessions. One of my favorites is to call out to them and then picture them joining me for a stroll through our neighborhood or on a trail in a park. As I walk along in all types of weather, I imagine them walking next to me, surrounding me. I even visualize the color of their robes, the glow of their wings, and their loving faces.

I fill my heart with the golden light of love and as we walk, I speak with them as I would to my truest best friend, because that’s who they are. I tell them what’s on my mind, good or bad. I cry sometimes. I share my frustrations. I ask them questions. And then I observe what messages I may be receiving or impressions I’m getting. I keep my eyes open for signs of confirmation.

I always, always feel a sense of peace and calm during and after those walks. What an incredible way to deepen my precious connection with my Divine Best Friends. Try it and let me know how it went!”
